It’s that time of year again!  Time to think about what we will be getting your significant other for Valentines Day.  Why not a family portrait session, or couples session?

This is the perfect time to get those family portraits that you’ve been meaning to do!  Also, why should engagement style photo sessions just be reserved for couples that aren’t married yet?  Why not show everyone how much in love you are with your spouse by showing off awesome images of you together?

Starting today through February 28th all portrait sessions are free if you pre-purchase just $300.00 worth of prints.  Call our office at 1.888.MTN.WEDD or  email us at jason@bluemtnphoto.com to book your session today!  We do have a limited number of slots available, so call and schedule your appointment as soon as you can!

Last August, I met with Katie in downtown Greenville to do her bridal portraits.  We shot some inside the Westin Poinsett Hotel, and then around downtown Greenville.

Sometimes you cross paths with people in your life, and you are better because of it.  This is the case with Megan and Lou.  Megan and Lou are both very special people and talented people, and it was an honor to be a part of their wedding.

They were married in June at First Baptist Church Newberry, in Newberry, SC.  The reception was at the Newberry Country Club.

I ended up with over 60 keepers from my sunrise walk on the beach!  Obviously I can’t show that many here, but I wanted to show as many as possible.  I was able to cull those down to 21 that could go on the blog.

As promised, here is the 2nd half of those images.

I do have a couple of more that I want to share, but these are extra special and deserve their own post. So check back here tomorrow!

A few weeks ago Robyn & Zac met me at our studio for their engagement session. Robyn told me she was wanting pictures with brick walls as a background, along with some railroad tracks and old buildings. So Fountain Inn, where our studio is at was the perfect location!

We’ve had their wedding booked for 6 months now. I had been looking forward to doing their engagement session for a long time. It was fun to finally get to do it!

On to the pics!

A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to photograph Anna. A wonderful high school senior.

We shot a in the studio for a little while, and then we went outside and walked around town looking for some cool backgrounds and textures. In an old small southern town like Fountain Inn, that’s not hard to find.

On to the pictures!

I think Anna could easily be a model. What do you guys think?

Last night the new Miss South Carolina was crowned.  Stacy and I have talked over the last few years about all of the weird connections we’ve had with ladies that are or have been in the  pageants.

I’ve only been to a Miss SC pageant once.  That was because I was covering it for the TV station that I worked for at the time.  We have a ton of connections to the pageant without ever being directly involved in it.  Some of it is photography related, and some of it is not.
Here is all of the connections that I can think about right now.
A couple of weeks ago we photographed a wedding and the bride was a former Miss SC.  Our first Wedding of 2007 was a bride that was 2nd or 3rd runner up twice!  The people that own the building that our office is in has a daughter that was in the pageant this year.  And his sister won the pageant 40 years ago!  Oh, there’s even more!
Stacy went to high school and was friends with lady that won it in 1998.  I interviewed the girl that won it in 1999 for my TV station.  The lady that won it in 2002 went to a different high school than me but was still close, and we had a lot of mutual friends.  She came to our youth group a few times when I was in high school.  I knew her from that!  Another girl that we knew won Miss Williamston a few years ago.  A guy that Stacy worked with at a book store a few years ago is heavily involved in the pageants.
There is one more that I can think about right now.  Our neighbor across the street photographed the winner of the pageant for like 20 years!  Yes, I have a neighbor that used to be a photographer too!
So we have a lot of crazy coincidental connections to the Miss SC Pageant.  Isn’t this all kinda weird?  It will be interesting to see how many more people involved in the pageant that we will meet in the future.
Oh, I forgot to tell Miss Lexington Anna Perry congrats for winning the pageant!  Congrats!  I hope you take that $20,000 scholarship that you won and put it to good use.  Also, I hope you represent us well at the Miss America Pageant!  Good luck!
