It’s Monday, so that means it’s picture of the week time!

I love Charleston!  In fact Stacy and I went there on our honeymoon.  We have since made many trips back.  We end up down there shooting weddings at least once a year, and sometimes we just go down there for a day or 2 just to go.  This image was made just last year when we were in Charleston to photograph a wedding.  It was an evening wedding, so we spent the morning walking around Charleston.

This image shows one of the famous carriage tours in Charleston.  The picture was taken right in front of famous Rainbow Row.  One neat thing about this image is that it’s now been published numerous times.  It was even published in a children’s book last year titled: Charleston, SC: Cool Stuff Every Kid should Know.  You can see it on Amazon.com by clicking here.

Be sure to check back every Monday for our picture of the week!

As much as I love our clients, and photographing people, I have tons of personal work that most people have never seen.  I’ve posted images here and there on old blogs, but most of our current blog readers have never seen any of my personal work.  Starting today, and continuing every Monday for the next 6 months I will post one image from my personal collection and talk a little about it.

Most of these images will not be of people.  For the most part they will be nature/landscape type photography.  I really look forward with sharing this work with all of our blog readers.

We are going to kick off the first week with this image of the pineapple fountain at Waterfront Park in Charleston, SC.

Charleston is a very special place for me and my wife Stacy.  We even honeymooned there after we got married.  I made this image one night while we were there with our kids for a couple of days.  This is Stacy’s favorite picture from Charleston and we even have it mounted as a large print behind our sofa in our home.

Make sure to come back every Monday to see the new image of the week!

This was a very special bridal portrait session.  When Berkley booked her wedding with us a year ago, she told me she wanted to do her bridal portrait in Charleston.  Fast forward to this past November, I happened to be in Charleston for a photographers conference, and we were able to schedule her bridal session while we were down there!  It worked out perfectly!

So we met at the beautiful Lowndes Grove Plantation. This was absolutely one of the most beautiful locations that we’ve ever shot at.  The weather was perfect, temperature was perfect, and so was the light!

To the pics!

As part of our photography workshop we set up some model stations to photograph some models. Due to the fact that I helped organize the event, and I was helping with other things, I only photographed one of our models.

When I met Lauren she told me she had never modeled before, and had no idea how she was gonna do. I’ll let you decide

Here is Lauren.

I think she did fine. What do you guys think?

As I stated last night, I spent the first 3 days this week down in Charleston.  No matter how many times I have visited Charleston, I always manage to snap pictures of things or places that I haven’t shot before.  This time was no exception.

Here are a few images from my walks around town.

More church steeples to add to my collection.
