We’re sorry our blog has been a little slow over the past few months. Since this blog hasn’t been updated in a while, it may seem like we haven’t been shooting a lot lately. We have been shooting so much over the last few months we simply have not had time to update you guys and add new posts! The fact is, this is the busiest year Blue Mountain Photo Works has ever had! It has been more important to us to deliver our images and products on time to our clients than to update our blog.
We’ve always been known for our speediness and high level of service that we offer to all of our clients. We strive to maintain that even in the most busiest of times. And thankfully, even though this has been our busiest year ever, we have succeeded in doing that. Our blog is what gets put on the back burner and suffers.
Stay tuned though. We are going to start updating you soon on all of the weddings, engagement and bridal sessions we’ve done over the past few months. We have several dozen shoots that we need to post on here over the next couple of months. We promise that we will do our best to get everything on here as soon as we can.
In the meantime, feel free to browse back through the 4 years of posts that we have here on our blog. Thanks for visiting, and we hope you’ll come back and visit us soon to see the updates!
We get asked all the time if we will travel to this place or that place. Obviously, the majority of our weddings are in South Carolina. Although we do travel to Western North Carolina and Georgia for weddings as well.
Some places we cover, but are not limited too are Anderson, Clemson, Pendleton, Easley, Greenville, Simpsonville, Spartanburg, Travelers Rest, Duncan, Greer, Boiling Springs, Asheville, Hendersonville, Flat Rock, Charlotte, Clinton, Newberry, Hilton Head, Myrtle Beach, Charleston, Mount Pleasant, Lexington, Savannah, Fripp Island. This of course doesn’t name all of the local cities that we cover, but gives a pretty general list. We pretty much cover all of Upstate SC, Western NC, the Midlands, and everywhere in the Low Country.
We are willing to photograph in other places around to US as well. Call or email us to get personalized quote for travel.
This Thursday, January 28th we will be exhibiting at the bridal expo from 3PM-8PM at Piedmont Technical College in Greenwood, SC. We haven’t exhibited in a bridal show in 4 years!
We hope that if you are in the Greenwood area, you will come out to the show. If you come, stop by our booth, say hey, and enter a drawing for free engagement session.
We have been so blessed these last few years by working with the greatest clients that any wedding photographer could every possibly have and I just want to say thank you to all of our clients and friends.
We have continued to book weddings this year, and next Spring is booking really fast as well. Even though the economy hasn’t been the greatest in the last year we have continued to book more and more weddings. We even branched out into family portraits this year, it has been successful! As we have watched countless other photo studios go out of business, or downsize, we have been able to continue to grow and even hire an associate!
Thank you so much to all of our wonderful clients that have made this possible. We do very little advertising, and almost solely depend on your word-of-mouth for our success. Thank you for all that you do, and we will continue to do our best to serve you now and into the future!

Today we completed an upgrade to our e-store at www.bluemtnphoto.net. This upgrade makes the store a little more user-friendly and allows for more options. Now instead of having to click on every single image to be able to see it up close, you can now just hover the cursor over the bottom-left corner and it will enlarge it automatically without having to click on the image. This will save people time as they are browsing pictures. You can now also add pictures your favorites folder from the thumbnail image without having to click all the way into it.
There’s also various upgrades on our end too which I won’t bore you with, but they do allow us to better serve our clients. We are very excited about this new upgrade and we’re proud that it allows us to serve our clients even better.

I don’t claim to be an expert on anything, much less writing or wedding advice. However, we are very blessed to be a part of a couple dozen weddings every year, and we can definately share our experiences with you to help make your wedding planning and wedding day run as smooth as possible.
Last year I wrote an article that appeared in a couple of places about the benefits of hiring a wedding coordinator. I re-edited it some and decided to post it here on our blog.
5 Reasons to Hire a Wedding Coordinator
In the beginning stages of planning her wedding, most brides ask the question “do I really need a wedding coordinator?” Our answer is yes, you absolutely should. The question should really be “why wouldn’t I hire a wedding coordinator”.

Hey everyone! I just started using Twitter a couple of months ago. For those of you that don’t know what Twitter is, it’s a social media website where you can update the status of what your doing at any given time. Kinda like Facebook updates. I actually have my Twitter updates automatically appear as my Facebook updates.
For those of you that would like to read more about what Twitter is. Click here.

So I realized today that I haven’t even mentioned that we’re in a new year yet! Shame on me! I’ve been so busy with traveling with my family, working on this new blog, and other photo related work I really hadn’t thought about a New Year’s post.
I don’t typically make New Year’s resolutions. Not because I don’t believe in them, but more because I tend to not do what everyone else does. I am not typically a crowd follower, so I just don’t do it. I do have personal and business goals though. I will share those on a later post.
I love January because everything starts over fresh and we can really start focusing on the 2009 weddings. This year promises to be the best year for us so far! We do still have a few Spring dates left, but not many. We really hope to go ahead and finish filling up this year’s schedule this month and next. January is our biggest month for bookings every year!
